Following the great success of previous year Bastille Day Cruises - Clive Hall has kindly volunteered to organise this years "Bastille Cruise 2015".
Bastille Day is of course 14th July (a Tuesday this year). It's the French equivalent of the American 4th July celebrations. There will be fun, festivities and a fantastic time to be had by all.
We intend to sail to St. Vaast le Hougue, which is just south of Barfleur on the east side of the Cherbourg peninsula. The town centre is right by the very picturesque harbour.
They are full up with a big race on Saturday but those boats will be leaving on Sunday 12th July, so we have spaces booked in from Sunday afternoon 12th July, or you can plan to arrive Monday if that suits better.
The plan is to enjoy the celebrations with a view to departing on Thursday 16th July, or you can stay longer if you wish.
If we get a good indication of numbers early enough, Clive would like to book a cruise dinner on Wednesday evening at the Tomahawk, a very popular seafood restaurant near the sea gate. Very different from your average- a terrific range of locally caught fish and shell fish. It will be full as it is very popular, whether or not we can get in there depends upon early registrations for this cruise by CSC members.
Note: On line registrations close on the Saturday night before.
